What is IS-BAO and how does it benefit my company ? (1)

IS-BAO means International Standards for Business Aircraft Operators.

IS-BAO is a code of best practice that has been developed by the industry (mostly business aviation associations and business operators) for the benefit of the industry.

So far it is a voluntary standard: companies that apply IS-BAO and subscribe to its amendment service have no obligation to implement it. Nevertheless, widespread adoption of the IS-BAO standards is encouraged as a contribution towards the objective of highly professional and standardized flight operations worldwide.

What should I do, as a corporate flight department without an AOC and not interested in commercial air operations ?

As a non-commercial operator of a complex airplane, EASA Part OPS 2 regulations will definitely affect the way you operate your corporate aircraft. The most straightforward way of preparing yourself and your company to the coming regulation is by meeting at least IS-BAO standards.

Skytation can guide you through the entire process or perform the necessary audits prior to full registration.
